CREATE is hosting a two-day workshop on “Designing for Older Adults: Case Studies, Methods & Tools” on May 22 -23, 2023 in New York City, NY. This interactive workshop will focus on the design process and methods and tools vital to good design for older adults. It is intended to bring together representatives from industry, research organizations, and universities involved in program or product design, or research targeted towards meeting the needs of older adults. We’ll be covering data-driven recommendations for the following topics: Needs Assessment for Design, Usability Protocols and Methods, Simulation, Performance Modeling and Design of Instructional Support. Exemplar case studies will be drawn from a variety of domains including: Social Engagement, Living Environments, Healthcare, Leisure, and Work.
Each participant will receive a complimentary copy of the newly published (2020) edition of our book Designing for Older Adults: Case Studies, Methods, and Tools. Meals during the workshop are provided and we will be hosting a reception and dinner on the first evening to provide an additional forum for networking and informal interaction. Attendance is limited, so attendees must register by April 1st, 2023. The cost of the workshop is $1200, or $800 for students and post-docs.
