The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign hosted a symposium titled “Unlocking the Potential of Immersive Computing: What Will it Take?” on April 29th and 30th. The Illinois CREATE Project 1 team contributed two posters to this engineering-focused symposium: “Dimensions of Wellness: A Systematic Mapping Review” and “Design and Evaluation of Custom Virtual Reality Applications for Older Adults”. The first poster was a systematic review that informed the design of two custom virtual reality applications for older adults presented in the second poster. Emre Eraslan (pictured) presented on behalf of the rest of the team: Veronica Falcon, Qiyuan Cheng, Jacob Stolker, Sai Meenakshi Hariharan, Pallabi Bhowmick, George Mois, Tracy Mitzner, Wendy Rogers, and Avinash Gupta. This was an excellent opportunity to disseminate CREATE research progress regarding older adults’ preferences for extended reality.
