Dr. George Mois, who coordinates CREATE Project 1 at the Illinois site, visited the Center on Aging and Behavioral Research at Weill Cornell Medicine (Walter Boot, George Mois, Sara Czaja left-to-right in the top photo) and the Design and Augmented Intelligence Lab at Cornell (George pictured with Saleh Kalantari and his students). He shared the preliminary findings of his virtual reality (VR) pilot study funded through the CREATE Center Trainee Pilot Grant. This project focuses on understanding the role of VR in supporting connections and use of VR in the home. He is particularly interested in the role of VR to support existing relationships and connections with friends and family and the potential to form new ones. This pilot study is being conducted at the McKechnie Family LIFE Home, which enables researchers to test out technologies in a home life environment. Additionally, the team worked on planning for the upcoming CREATE P1 Preference study.
