Dr. George Mois and Dr. Renato Azevedo have started new careers at the University of Georgia (UGA). They completed postdoctoral fellowships in the Human Factors and Aging Laboratory at Illinois with Wendy Rogers. Dr. Mois is involved in CREATE Project 1 and was awarded a Pilot Grant to work on presence in virtual reality. Dr. Azevedo was the CREATE Pilot Grantee in 2023 for analyses on mHealth applications for older adults.
At UGA, Dr. Mois is now an assistant professor in the department of Health Promotion and Behavior. His research interests concern human technology interaction, extended reality, socially assistive robots, telepresence embodiment, loneliness/social connectivity, and healthy aging.
Dr. Azevedo is now an assistant professor position at the Institute of Gerontology and Dept. of Epidemiology & Biostatistics (EPIBIO). His recent work focuses on the design, development, use, and evaluation of human-centered technological interventions and data visualizations to facilitate positive behavior changes, successful decision-making and aging, promoting health, education, and wellness.
