Tracy Mitzner, Ph.D., University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Dr. Tracy Mitzner has been awarded Fellow status by the Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSS) section of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA).  Fellow status is the highest category of membership and is an acknowledgment of her outstanding and continuing work in the field of gerontology.  Dr. Mitzner’s Fellow status was unanimously approved by the GSA Board of Directors after thorough review and recommendations from the GSA Membership Committee and the BSS Fellow Review Panel.  Dr. Mitzner’s achievement will be celebrated at the 2024 GSA Annual Scientific Meeting, scheduled for November 13-16 in Seattle, WA. As a GSA Fellow, Dr. Mitzner is encouraged to further contribute to the Society and the field by engaging in leadership roles, supporting emerging scholars, submitting high-quality scholarship, and participating in mentorship activities. 

Dr. Mitzner has been associated with CREATE since 2001.  She is currently engaged with two CREATE projects: Project 1, “Virtual Reality to Support Cognitive Health and Engagement and Socialization Among Aging Adults,” and Project 2, “Technology Support for Cognition and Social Engagement for Aging Adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment.”  The CREATE team congratulates Dr. Mitzner on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to her continued contributions to the field of aging and technology.
