The University of Texas at Dallas Center for Vital Longevity (CVL) invited CREATE PI Dr. Rogers to be featured in their Spring Public Lecture as well as their Science Luncheon on April 29th and 30th, respectively. Her public lecture was entitled “Exploring Human-Robot Interaction for Older Adults”, and described how robots can be designed to support older adults and the value of human factors principles in design. At the luncheon, she presented research focused on enhancing social engagement for older adults through technology. She highlighted how technology can be designed to support connection, participation, and well-being among older adults. This research reflects the broader goal of developing human-centered technologies that respond to the needs, preferences, and everyday experiences of aging adults while promoting independence, engagement, and quality of life. She also had the opportunity to interact with CVL students and postdocs during her visit.
