On October 7th, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign held an Open House at the McKechnie Family LIFE Home. The LIFE Home is a research facility where CREATE research is conducted, including interviews and focus groups, as well as virtual reality (VR) research. The Illinois CREATE team took this opportunity to present research to a diverse audience, including donors, older adults from the community, researchers, and students from Illinois and other departments and universities. The Project 1 team provided VR experiences to the visitors, as shown in the image where Emre Eraslan (graduate student) is demonstrating the VR project. In the second image, we see Dr. Hye Soo Lee from Project 3 and the Dissemination Core, having a lively conversation with Dr. Dan Fisk, one of the founders of the CREATE. The Dissemination Core presented a poster, made by the members of our CREATE Student Intern Program (Kalyani Nair and Litzy Puma from Weill Cornell Medicine; Prarthana Rawal from Illinois), that provided an overview and history of CREATE.
